Flow Elements
Orifice Plate
- Simple, proven technology
- Variants include square edge, conical entrance, quarter circle and eccentric
- Benefit: An uncompromised, reliable, worldwide recognized measurement device
Flow Measurement Excellence
The Orifice plate is the most commonly used differential pressure device offering economical, simple and sufficient accuracy for many applications within the industry. Calibration and Dimensional Certificates are available for square edge orifice plates for use in Fiscal and Allocation metering, if required.
Square Edge Orifice Plates
– Process Flow Measurement of hydrocarbons, most gases and liquids
– Allocation flow metering
– Custody Transfer and fiscal flow metering
Conical Entrance & Quarter Circle
– Flow measurement of viscous fluids
– Applications with low Reynolds numbers
Eccentric Plates
– Flow Measurement of dirty and contaminated fluids
– Flow metering of fluids with suspended solids or entrained gas
Benefits
Solartron ISA is able to offer the most suitable flow measurement solution for each application, using proven flow metering technology with Differential Pressure measurement covered in ISO 5167-2, ISO TR-15377, AGA3 and ASME MFC-3M. These devices are low maintenance with no moving parts, and considered an economical cost effective flow measurement solution for many gas, liquid and steam applications.
Venture
The Venturi is an original ‘fit and forget’ device, as its classical profile reduces the effects of erosion and general wear. Solartron ISA’s Venturi tubes are available in a wide range of sizes, pressure class and material specifications.
- Low permanent pressure loss resulting in energy savings
- Minimal upstream length requirements
- Applications include: hydrocarbon gas and liquids, LNG trains, compression stations, process management and high accuracy custody transfer, as well as allocation flow metering
Venturi Tubes are used on many different process applications and conditions, typically where low permanent pressure loss is required. Line sizes available range from 25mm up to 1800mm and greater.
Venturi Tube design provides a key cost saving benefit, as the profile is virtually immune to any wear or erosion, therefore with very little maintenance and inspection is required. Venturi Tubes are often regarded as “fit and forget” devices.
Venturi Tubes can be supplied to meet the requirements of your application. We offer a number of different designs to suit the needs of any pipe-work configuration, with different lengths, orientations and end connections available. Solartron ISA provides complete Engineering support from initial design and sizing concepts to manufactured final products.
Flow Nozzle
- Ideal for measuring high velocity non viscous fluids
- Connection types: flanged, butt-weld and insert type
- Applications include: hydrocarbon liquids and gas process, steam process, erosive fluids, high velocity process and process measurement
ISA 1932 and ASME Flow Nozzles are accurate devices for measuring the flow of high velocity, non-viscous fluids e.g. Steam and other high velocity gases. Flow Nozzles are particularly suitable for erosive fluids where the sharp edge of an orifice plate could quickly deteriorate.
Solartron ISA offer a range of Flow Nozzle designs including flanged, buttweld and insert types. All Flow Nozzle types are designed in accordance with ISO 5167 to suit various pipe-work configurations, overall length requirements, orientations and end connections. Lines sizes available range from 50mm up to 1000mm.

Magnetic Flow Meter
Digital Magnetic Flow Meter are intended for measuring flow of electrically conductive liquids in closed pipe lines where the magnetic flux permeates the entire cross sectional area of the liquids flow. Electromagnetic flow meters measure electromotive forces to determine liquids velocity using Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction and compute the flow rate using equation of conductive liquids having minimum conductivity of 5 micro Siemens / cm and are relatively immune to the effects of temperature , pressure , viscosity & density of the flowing liquid.
